This is a detailed plan for building the membership in the upcoming four months from March - July 2024. It serves as information to the consortium, but also as a place to collaboratively fill with actions, tasks, and aims, we think are pertinent. If you know of events, are working on tasks or have anything else to add that can have value for building the membership, please add this here.

Short-term action plan for building membership

March 2024
Week 2 (11-15 March 2024)
1

Decidim platform open to collaboratively discuss and confirm the Values of the Network, Value proposition towards members, and Network Structure

Consortium partners will be asked to fill out survey which will indicate:
- Organisations or groups that they would like to see in the initial soft-launch recruitment and why
- Organisations or groups they would like to see join the network after the launch
- Organisations or groups that you have/will have direct contact with to recruit them.

Week 3 (18-22 March, 2024)

The website is launched according to the short-term plan (DRI)

TEPSA-Egmont prepares for the first policy retreat and partners to support where and if needed

Agree on the shortlist of 15 organisations or groups that we will invite to join the Collaborative, each being assigned partners who will be the ones to lead conversations. (all)

Call for interest among Consortium members to be on the Membership Committee that will admit new members. (DRI)

Week 4 (25-29 March, 2024)

March 26 - First policy retreat in Brussels, and soft launch of the network to signify this milestone (TEPSA-Egmont)

First Membership Committee meeting to discuss updates on network recruitment. Set up a recurring group meeting every other week until the hard launch. (DRI)

Plan for a hard-launch event. Ask EPD for an evening spot on the back of their annual conference. Look for other options if that is not possible.

April 2024

Continued recruitment of identified members and regular updates during Consortium meetings by the Membership Committee.

The Membership Committee will regularly review plans in recurring meetings and prepare for any risks or failures that may arise.

DRI’s comms strategy must be coordinated with the recruitment drive, all consortium partners will support as required.

By April 30th, 2024: Demsoc and DRI will finalise internal governance and post-June 2025 network plans and governance structures (including Membership Charter, Committees, Admission and expulsion rules etc.,) after consultation of the rest of the Consortium.

Review the hard launch event in June 2024.

Testing Membership - Shortlist and set up interviews with at least 2 policymakers, 2 practitioners, 2 research institutes, 2 activists, etc., (at least two per field), to present the Network plans and get feedback to consider before hard-launch

May 2024

Consortium members will collaboratively discuss, revise and decide on Governance Statutes, Membership Charter, Governance Principles over three weeks on the Decidim platform. Exact date of publication will be announced.

Continued recruitment of identified members and regular updates during Consortium meetings by the Membership Committee.

The Membership Committee will regularly review plans in recurring meetings and prepare for any risks or failures that may arise.

Continued testing of the membership will be done until early May.

Discuss feedback from external testing with the rest of the Consortium and finalise Governance Statutes, Membership Charter, Governance Principles.

June 2024
