European Democracy Shield

Right now, this document is a start of a collection of research and practice outcomes, stemming from the work and aims of several Nets4Dem members. Through the Decidim process, we want to collect more input from all members. Once the process is closed, we will consolidate the inputs and develop a short and long version of the recommendations. This document will then be sent back to you will be asked to validate the outcome as signee.

Description of the different parts of the Recommendation Document: 

The Recommendations are structured around 4 key areas and a last section on signatories. The sections you are able to edit and comment are the following: 

I. Dis- and misinformation 

II. Rule of law 

III. Emerging technologies and Democracy 

IV. Democratic innovation 

A section "V. Signatories" will be also available in the final document, including all signees. 

Under each key area you will find a proposed draft of recommendations, including reports, publications and other outcomes we want to share to the EC to support our recommendations. On this Decidim platform, you will be able to make suggestions for new recommendations, changes to existing ones, and link to your work that you want to share to the Commission.

• Process closes: 07/02/2025 

• Recommendations finalized and sent to be signed: 11/02/2025 

• Last date to sign: 12/02/2025 

• Sent to EC: 14/02/2025
